There also seems to be a problem with some users on HDMI cables refusing to run at 1080p either they are forced to run a lower resolution, or a lower refresh rate (eg 24Hz). It's not clear if 2K are aware of this issue, or indeed whether it's caused by the same or a different underlying issue.Īt various points in this thread there are steps to take to edit your registry as a workaround. This is not a workaround I expect that 2K/Firaxis would endorse, as registry editing is a minefield, and it should not be necessary. However, for the sake of keeping everyone informed, I mention it here.Ī possible fix is also found in another thread () which is being left open so people can discuss that fix, and how well it's working, and nothing else.Ĭan only set 1920x1080 in windowed mode.after doing this it no longer shows refresh rates with the resolution so I can't be sure I am running at 60Hz where I need it. Game kept defaulting to 75Hz in fullscreen mode. Noticed windowed mode has no minimize option as well.Īm using Intel HD 4600 graphics and a Samsung 1080p (60Hz) TV as monitor. Hoping to play in fullscreen after fixes.Īlso.when alt-tabbing to desktop while in fullscreen mode, the game still leaves a pretty good size window up in a corner of the desktop area. *Edit* Another small issue I noticed is that when the game comes to the first load screen (before the main menu with the picture of the ships descending to the planet) there is no indicator that the game is actually loading and that eventually the user will get to the next screen where they can click on through to the main menu. In fullscreen mode the game actually hangs there until I wait about 10 seconds, alt tab out then jump back in, and it refreshes itself to move on. If I don't do that it just sits stuck on that screen. In windowed mode it passed on through without issues after a few seconds.
